Get together and code! Join others around the world October 5th to October 14th for a meetup and coding challenge. We will have experts on hand to answer questions as you code alongside others and learn about the hidden technology behind Fortune 500 companies around the world. If you are interested in analytics, learning new coding languages, databases, networking, hardware, cyber security or understanding the enterprise systems running business critical workloads where minutes equal millions…join us!

Code Week is an opportunity to connect with other students and get started on the code challenges in the world’s largest virtual student contest: Master the Mainframe. This contest has opened the door to new IBM Z mainframe careers and job opportunities many never knew existed. Who knows…you could be the next Legend of Z!

Call for Facilitators:  Students, Educators, Professionals, Fans of Z

Volunteer to host and organize student meetups during Code Week: Legends of Z. You will be provided step-by-step instructions to create an amazing event! Facilitators can earn a limited edition T-shirt and a Digital Badge exclusively for Master the Mainframe Facilitators.

Instructions to Register as a Facilitator

Step 1:

Register for the advocacy hub at ibm.biz/zadvocate. This is a community of IBM Z fans!

Step 2:

Accept the Legend of Z Challenge in the Hub to access all the materials!

Step 3:

When you're ready to commit, register your location, date and time so we can help publicize your event.

Register by September 24th to receive your limited edition of Legends of Z T-shirt before your meetup.

Master the Mainframe Facilitator Digital Badge

Badge Description

Through coordination of a Master the Mainframe meetup, this badge earner has shown their leadership in bringing mainframe to the next generation. The individual has demonstrated their knowledge of IBM Z by sharing their experience and ability to innovate on the mainframe to solve real life situations to participants throughout the meetup.

Skills developed – jobs available today!

What it takes

Report the meetup results back to IBM including pictures and any social media.
